Pursuing higher education, he earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Benin in 1985.

His leadership continued as the Chairman of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) from 2013 to 2015, along with prominent positions within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
