Dr. Cairo Ojougboh  Early Life and Education:

Cairo Ojougboh’s journey began in the heart of Delta State. Born to Chief Corlenso Ojougboh and Mrs. Angelina Ojougboh, he attended Pilgrims Baptist Primary School and St. Columba’s Grammar School, graduating in 1976. Pursuing higher education, he earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Benin in 1985.

Dr. Cairo Ojougboh  Career:

Dr. Ojougboh’s foray into politics commenced as the Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) from 1998 to 1999. Notable roles as the Presidential Liaison Officer and Special Assistant to the President on NASS (2007-2011) underscored his commitment to public service. His leadership continued as the Chairman of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) from 2013 to 2015, along with prominent positions within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Dr. Cairo Ojougboh  Political Journey:

Within the PDP, Cairo held key positions, including National Vice Chairman and Chairman for the South South region (2014-2016) and Deputy National Chairman (2016-2017). Serving as the Political Adviser to Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark and as the Executive Secretary of the National Unity Group (NUG), he chaired influential committees, contributing significantly to the Nigerian House of Representatives.

Gubernatorial Race and Beyond:

In 2019, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh entered the gubernatorial race in Delta State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), showcasing his enduring dedication to public service. His desire to contribute to the development of his home state was evident throughout his political career.
